Controlling devices remotely
Control phones and computers on the same Wi-Fi – no internet needed.
Use a second device to start scenes, trigger actions and restart for the next take.
Devices in the same project and on the same Wi-Fi or hotspot find each other automatically. No pairing needed.
What you need
At least two devices with FilmApp: iPhone, Android, Mac or Windows.
Sign all devices into the same project → Project access.
Connect all devices to the same Wi-Fi. Remote control needs no internet.
Opening remote control

Open FilmApp on the controlling device.

Tap the gamepad icon in the search bar at the top.

The other signed-in devices on the same Wi-Fi appear under “Devices”.
How to control
Remote control has three sections, from top to bottom:
Active scenes – one card per playing device. Restart resets it; the buttons below trigger the listed scene actions.
Devices – connection status and current scene. Tap to select the target device, marked with a check.
Scenes – tap to start a scene or group on the selected device.
Several devices at once
Advance or restart each device independently.
No Wi-Fi at the location

Turn on the personal hotspot on one of the phones (iPhone: Settings → Personal Hotspot; Android: Settings → Hotspot & tethering).

Connect the other devices to the hotspot Wi-Fi.

Done – the devices find each other just like on any other Wi-Fi.
If the connection drops
The status shows “Connected”, “Reconnecting” or “Disconnected”. Controls are disabled for unreachable devices. They reconnect automatically.
Back to normal playback
The top-left arrow returns to the scene overview. The device can then be controlled remotely again.
